Another footballer (21) died on the match after a sudden unexplained cardiac arrest with no defibrillator or ambulance free at the First Municipal Stadium in a match against Ermionida this Wednesday.
The midfielder collapsed only five minutes playing for the Greek team Ilioupoli. Doctors from the teams rushed to help and revive him, but they couldn’t save the boy. The ambulance came 20 minutes, pronouncing him dead at the scene.
His team announced his death via social media platforms. The club shared:
“Our Aleko, our friend, our brother, you left so unjustly. The whole team, the whole city, is mourning today. The words do not come out… only an unbearable pain and a knot in the stomach. Have a good trip, Alecara.”
